This activity is designed to reinforce a rectangular array visualisation of factorisation. While dragging the shape and watching the alignment of the small squares, the difference between the situation where there is an even division and where there is not should be particularly clear. Also apparent should be the special nature of primes — no matter how the shape is adjusted, the small squares never line up into a rectangular grid.
